I, too, have been thinking a lot about your experience with the sanctuary issue. It nags and pokes and prods at me. I am glad your son was able to have an opportunity to read his statement.

Glad to see he got to read his statement. I didn't know anything about the sanctuary issue until reading your post. I am still not sure how I feel about it, but am continuing to investigate. When we stop listening to each other is when the real danger starts. My civics teacher used to use this quote, "My rights end where your noses begins." Basically that means to me that we should focus less on our own rights and look at our neighbors. Clearly the individuals in that meeting were only focused on their own rights. Thank you for the wake up call.

That is a traditional Eritrean bread that one of the gentlemen brought! It's called Himbasha. Here's a video on how to make it (https://bit.ly/2tjPlsa) but ours had raisins and some type of herbs in it, too, I think.
