Quotidian: daily, usual or customary;
everyday; ordinary; commonplace
One of my favorite springtime dishes. Unfortunately, no one else shares my enthusiasm.
Another one of my favorites. This one, the family loves.
A week of lunches.
Fresh-picked.
A new icing that no one liked, probably because I put too much of it on the cake.
Running low: our supply of drinking glasses.
The glories of a summer morning.
Of her own volition.
DIY vaccinations.
Life lessons.
Financial aid forms for the new part-time college (!) student.
Stressing me out: minutes before the guests arrive, he decides to clean out the silverware drawer.
Big date prep.
The first strawberry pie!
Oh yeah, and Prom, too.
Oh yeah, and Prom, too.
This same time, years previous: sauteed lambsquarters with lemon, campfire cooking, Costco reflections, ice cream supper, Shirley’s sugar cookies, the trouble with Mother’s Day, the quotidian (5.21.12), through my daughter’s eyes, caramel cake.

I gave up on glasses. The kids kept breaking them. We just use whatever Ball jars we have that are empty now.

Wait! What is the salad with the egg? Will you share that recipe too?

That's just our standard chef salad: greens, cucumber, tomato, sweet pepper, carrot, ham, eggs, nuts, cheese, raisins, and Ranch dressing. I make an enormous salad for supper (I sometimes serve bread, too), and we feast. Leftovers get fought over.

I've learned to never never mention plumbing or electric issues the day of expected company.

WHY DO HUSBANDS DO THAT. The other favorite trick is to decide to run an errand minutes before guests arrive, to return home AFTER they have come to our home. WHY WHY WHY.
I hope we get to hear more about prom!!! That last photo is so wonderful!

Dying about that silverware drawer – Larry does (or tries to do) the same sort of thing, always on days we are having people over. Remember this?
