the quotidian (4.26.21)

Quotidian: daily, usual or customary;
everyday; ordinary; commonplace

Tulips have their own version of cut-off jeans, who knew!

Mediocre one-pot meal: rice, spinach, and turkey meatballs.

My son is testing spice combos for a bunch of new popcorn flavors: taking recommendations.

Happiness in the bean bucket: a coworker went on a trip and left everyone hidden messages.

First time trying Tillamook: we’re fans.

I asked him to stop by the store for a box of cones.

Her one and only wisdom tooth, gone.

Dog ballet.

While doing road clean-up, he gleaned a few (roadkill, presumably) teeth.

Dirt road, sunshine, top down.

Overdue and ready to pop: my older daughter’s recommendation, “Stick a pin in her.”
(But then….)

This same time, years previously: that fuzzy space, an ordinary break, life can turn on a dime, thank you for holding us, taking off, the newest addition: Jessica, mango banana helados, beware the bed sheets, cauliflower potato soup, drama trauma, the perils of homemade chicken broth.

Love your blog. This is my favourite popcorn flavouring.

    Dorito seasoning for popcorn:

    2 TBSP nutritional yeast
    1/4 tsp garlic powder
    1/4 tsp onion powder
    1/4 tsp cumin
    1/4 tsp paprika
    1/4 tsp chili powder
    1/4 tsp salt

    Enjoy!

That’s funny, my daughter only has one wisdom tooth as well. My late ex-husband didn’t have any so he used to say he was an “advanced human”. My daughter proudly claims she is “almost advanced”. Even so, not looking forward to the day she needs it pulled. Hope your daughter feels better.

[not sure if everyone already knows this …] Hot air-popped popcorn is delicious with fruity olive oil drizzled on it. We usually just add salt or Cabot cheese powder, but it’s quite a different experience than butter.

How are the dogs getting along lately?
I hope calving goes smoothly. You probably know this, but it is good to dip the new calf’s naval with iodine. Also, I like to offer the new moms a bucket of warm water with molasses in it. This is very good for them and they love it. Good luck!!

A mediocre meal that includes *meatballs* is well-nigh a crime.

(is he putting nutritional yeast and/or parmesan in some of the popcorn seasoning mixes? If not, perhaps worth giving a shot…)
