Scrambling to keep up.

This same time, years previous: Mr. Tiny, deviled eggs, on fire, lemons and goat cheese, flour tortillas, my prego husband, in all seriousness, and Easter chickens.

    Tell me about the almonds: are they soaking in salt water a la Sally Fallon? Will your husband roast or dehydrate them? I've got a bucket of almonds in the basement; we usually roast them with soy sauce but I'm getting the stirrings of religion about soaking.

      Yes, a 5 gal. bucket. That's how I store all my bulk stuff: beans, flour, sugar, pasta, nuts. I'm not a planner so having the ingredients always at hand saves many a supper uproar.

      Rebecca, the almonds are soaking re Sally's directions. And then I put them in the dehydrator till crispy. The problem is, they take awhile to dry and I'm feeling like maybe just buying the plain, salted, crunchy almonds at Costco instead. Is soaking really that much better?

      Don't your almonds get rancid sitting in a bucket for so long?
